Visit of the delegation of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry from Türkiye

Last week the National Paying Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania (NPA) hosted the delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye (MoAF). The aim of the visit – preparation of the Advisory measure’ fiche to be integrated into the framework of IPARD III programme (2021-2027). As a candidate country Türkiye has been implementing IPARD since 2007, however some specific measures have not been finalised yet, Advisory measure being among them.

Upon the recommendation of the European Commission and aiming to actualise the fiche of the Advisory measure in Türkiye, the MoAF for the study visit chose Lithuania. During their stay in Lithuania the delegation from Türkiye familiarised themselves with the management, implementation and administration  of the measure, including advisory services and vocational training supported by the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, respective national support, as well as with the Lithuanian Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and measure’ perspectives in the upcoming programming period.

The Turkish delegation visited the NPA and the Managing Authority – Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania (MoA), i.e., the institutions that are engaged in elaborating the framework of the measure and are responsible for its supervision. They also met with the representatives of the Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service, the Lithuanian Chamber of Agriculture – with those providing consultancy and vocational training to farmers, forest managers, SME‘s, other land managers operating in rural areas in the country.

The collaboration between Lithuania and Türkiye are constantly expanding: there are already close links established between the NPA and the Turkish paying agency ARDSI, counting for over 8 years, and recently this cooperation has been complemented with the bilateral activities between NPA and MoAF.
