Rural development programme 2014-2020

EUR 2.847 billion of support funds were earmarked for the implementation of the Rural Development Programme (the Programme) for Lithuania in total. The implementation of the Programme has been extended due to COVID-19 crisis on the EU level, thus all funds of the Programme must be paid to the beneficiaries until 31 December 2025.

A total of EUR 2.149 billion was paid until the end of 2022 under the Programme measures, which is 75 per cent of all funds allocated. Despite the challenges the crisis invoked both on the National Paying Agency (NPA) and the beneficiaries, the NPA succeed in keeping the implementation of the Programme on the right track in terms in simple and well-structured administration, efficient supervision and obstacles free payments of the Programme funds. Over 700 thousand applications have been effected during this programming period and the fact that more than 86 per cent of the total funds of the Programme have been already allocated to the beneficiaries under contracts, gives us solid grounds to believe, that implementation of the Programme shall be successfully completed within the remaining three years of its implementation.
